The Helpful Helpdesk is a Community Interest Company (CIC) registered in England and Wales. We are a CIC that has shareholders and can distribute dividends to our shareholders. However, it is our intention to build a financially secure and sustainable business for the sector in our first years of operation.
How does the community benefit?
Providing back office support to third sector organisations including charities, voluntary and community organisations, social enterprises.
How do we operate?
Micro organisations (fewer than five staff) are poorly served by current commercial services providing back-office support. Making such services available, accessible and at an affordable rate will allow these organisations to focus on their primary delivery objectives.
The company hopes to build it workforce by engaging home-based support consultants. The nature of this work will be particularly suitable to those with caring responsibilities and people with disabilities.
We hope to generate a surplus from trading. This surplus shall be used to support free to access back-office services for small charities and voluntary or community organisations with no fulltime paid staff. When trading conditions allow, dividends will be paid to shareholders, subject to the restrictions in the act and regulations.
